Quietly play some nice music, gently squeeze his hand, talk soothingly and reassuringly to him, and use a sponge to keep his lips and mouth moist and comfortable. When he passes, you may have a rush of emotions: relief, grief, anger and sadness. In my experience, I found that going to a secluded part of the yard and screaming into a pillow was a great relief.
