Walking The Creek
On Sunday I went for a walk along the creek, scouting out locations for photography. While on the walk, I discovered an old typewriter on the bank of the creek. I thought it very peculiar (why an old typewriter discarded all by itself, here?) and cool. It captured my fancy, but since I didn’t know how long I would be walking, and I didn’t want to lug it all the way with me, I left it behind.
Yesterday I went on a walk again, to take some photographs and retrieve the typewriter. It is a big, clunky, square thing—old, but not as old as I would like. I don’t know if anyone had a clue what I was carrying when I walked home along the road. Until I tire of it, it will be my literary muse.
I picked the perfect time of day to take the photographs. It was later afternoon / early evening, and the angle of the sun gave good shadows and interesting lighting. I often wish I had more time for photography.
It is good to get out and explore new places to photograph. But also, sometimes it is good to just get out and go where there are no people. Walking alone, in the silence among the trees, life’s sorrows and concerns don’t feel like they are pressing quite so close.

Coming soon, I hope. Sorting through pictures, agonizing over which are the best, and then (finally) uploading, takes time.
